Coffin Nail clutch

Coffin Nail clutch

A Poem by Robert Trakofler (Bad Bunny)

__Coffin Nail Clutch__

Digital diction drips desire

Pressed Passion Percolates

 Demitasse display descrier

Conceptions consummate

I drink the lines

Drifting dusky designation

Cigarette clouds cast climb

Drafting darks define dilation

Sight spectacle sublime

The lines drink me

Starving spiritual sustenance

Divine dish devotee

Chest clutch crave crying countenance

Monument malady

The lines dine I

…die

I suppose this poem does have a relatable context in terms of writers and artists. The art of creating does come with a stress all its own and as a result of that the writer/artist tends to consume themselves in the work, feeding the lines on the page with some of the unhealthiest habits known to man. When the lines consume us it is important to look after the benefactor of those lines, for without the benefactor there are no lines at all.

Another interesting poem written in your own original style. Alliteration and rhyme is on point and somehow your message comes through. Go easy on the caffeine hits!

I know next to nothing about writing poetry, but I've read at least several in my day, and this one goes down so easy.

Almost all poetry is rhythmic, right, but the rhythm here is so fast paced. I just haven't got a clue how that works.

Normally, I read poetry in this really rigid, stilted fashion. ba-DA ba-Da ba-DA. But here the words fly by, and every syllable feels right. I mean, I never had the wrong rhythm in mind and tripped over myself.

And this is exactly the sort of comment you'll get from a novelist who doesn't read poetry.

But yours is fun, so.

I should probably stop typing now.

This is the perfect description of the times when the writing fever grips you and it just has to culminate in something tangible, something meaningful. I love the powerful word choices here. The entire process the poet goes through and the aids so vital to help him through it are superbly presented. “I drink the lines. The lines drink me.” Just delightful, Bunny!

Oh those things that tell us its time to write. For me I don't drink anything, don't smoke while writing, can't listen to music at the same time or it disrupts my thought pattern. What I do have is my voice in my head that is a constant companion, egging me on, cussing, telling me this is a big pile of crap. Its what I'm used to. Great personal touch on this one!!!

Bittersweet isn't it? Some lines seem to draw out the pain from the writer. Better to share the feeling with the reader.
Interesting write.

I like it.
I actually have a physical yearning when it’s time to write. Like a mouth-watering tickle at the back of my throat and so on. Where does it come from? I don’t know, but it isn’t something that can be denied or explained away when it just keeps happening.

I feel the pang in these lines, but also, the love affair. It’s so fulfilling even if no one sees a thing I wrote but me. Like a fix. Just keeping things polite, ha.

This offers a really good sense of the urgency, Robert. The thing that just won’t let you go. And you don’t want it to. Embrace it.

I really want to add the word "nigh" to the end of the poem, but I know that this is beautifully crafted by you, and I respect that. My want to change poems or add them comes only when they catch me by the heart, and you have certainly done that. But I really shouldn't dream of that, this poem is already perfect in its exquisitely beautiful personality, that could only be yours. Great write!
