Senseability

Senseability

A Poem by Robert Trakofler (Bad Bunny)

__Senseability__

I stand along a rocky shore

I close my eyes to feel the grace

of sunbeam rays sincere adore

I feel the spray caress my face

And hear the waves break crashing roars

as tickling trickles touch toes trace

inhale to taste the salts implore

recall a time I stood this place

a boy who’s heart encased amour

that dreamt of dragon cloud escape

and sailing ships in grand explore

I peel my eyes in older age

My sight and sounds dulled yet still more

My taste and scents yield times decay

The aches of touch those gone before

My mind and soul a fine bouquet

The trick of life we must emplore

That wisdom and strength don’t embrace

I glance my ship has gone ashore

I pray impart this hearts convey

this reminds me of my youth...the dreams i had....the make-believe that was so much fun...
and then getting called to dinner....playtime over.
in later life, constant calls to dinner..as playtime diminished...and the glory of innocent childhood diminished as well.

Those memories and recollections of childhood are so very precious. They ward of that 'decay,' you mention, as of no account. Anyway, age brings wisdom 'tis said; and I believe this to be quite true.

smiling bunny robert:)
A fine piece of reminiscing, Robert!

As i get older, though still somewhat youthful, i have found myself looking back on the past in such a way as you have written; the places and people i knew and the thoughts and hopes i had in such places. Its a sobering experience and one that helps us to take stock and look forward to the next chapters in life. And even though the senses dull and the body slows down, those memories always remain and are never lost to the ages.

There are some superb lines in this poem, especially the reference to the dragon cloud dreaming and life as a ship exploring the waves of the years. Combined with the nicely gentle rhymes, this makes this poem a gem to read.

Very well done. Happy New Year and best wishes for the months ahead.
