I Have Mail

I Have Mail

A Poem by Robert Trakofler (Bad Bunny)
"

Last week I found a thesaurus in my mailbox and then this week I got an email from a piano composer with an attachment with his lovely music (I left a link on the bottom of the poem:)

"

__I Have Mail__

The other day I

Found a thesaurus inside my mailbox

A scribbled poem sigh

Penned in the cover In lieu of door knock

Lines blushing my eyes

Expression to sympathy interlock

This morning a note

Played in a message sent to my inbox

A lovely devote

A piano key wave inflection dream walk

Phrasing to invoke

This scrawl of an old poet’s heart to talk

Oh the expressions

LET them RAIN… impart, forever remain

Grace of impressions

Brace to my melody in tone sustained

In the reflection’s

Wake, I Pray to always live the refrain

This is a sample of the composer's music

Seems like you are a popular guy, Robert! The other day all i found in the mailbox was an electricity bill!

I am one that is very wary of using a thesaurus in my writings; they have a tendency to pollute the creative process and from my experience as a reader, those "thesaurus writings", as i call them, stick out like a sore thumb, lacking heart and soul and reeking of faked intellect. So, be careful of your new gift. It may well have been sent by Al-Qaeda!

Otherwise, i enjoyed the poem and its basis in the little, unexpected surprises that life can sometimes provide. Well written.

these days it's hard to sort he drivel from the shiny things. I remember being a kid and loving the mail -- not so much for most the year for me anymore.

You have mail Bunny. That means others are thinking about you. I bought my Thesaurus in a charity shop years ago. It is falling apart now and I rarely use it, but I did once upon a time. The scribbled poem on the cover I'd find intriguing. I buy second hand poetry books and the study all the pencilled notes left by previous readers :) If that wasn't enough you received a gift from a composer of music. I think you are a very popular bunny. All I get is bills:)) Hope all is good with you Bunny and you are keeping warm.

You made me wonder do poems walk the talk or do they talk the walk? Lovely writing Robert, yes!, a Thesaurus is somewhat a dinosaur these days probably cobbled up by a pleasure-saraus google monster!

Thanks for this artful, well-worded, heartfelt celebration, nudging all of us closer to doing something simple & pleasing today! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

i read somewhere where Plath used a thesaurus extensively, which is not sinister, nor a pliable use of poetic decompression . Like a painter who paints mountains as a beginning of every painting they paint. But she was also a beauty queen which became (after death) her Bertillon ie, her markings and her thump line impressions. She never "really" died, did she? Old poets never do...great poem...dana

Bunny, you certainly have an interesting mailbox. All I ever find are bills, political organizations' passings of the hat and urgent pleadings for assistance from charities I never heard of. I expect any day to get a donation request from the Leaping Frenchmen of Maine Research Program.
