Just A Little Pestilence Humor:/

Shelter In Place

It’s not a womb or disgrace

That I shelter in place

though my room of displace

makes my thoughts start to race

of what looms lie in wait

on this treadmill I pace

as I moon for embrace

in sequester of space

I consume to replace

The lost touch of your brace

as I spoon frosted flakes

and I peer at my waist

then I zoom interface

electronic deface

so I broom the whole place

even dust an old suitcase

and I croon my cracked vase

Rearrange my book case

I fear soon my minds fate

Will lose sanities grace

I don’t groom or shave face

Like a monk I am chaste

Oh how goonish my state

As I shelter in place

Oh, how the pace seems to race down the face of this poem in case you hadn't noticed BB...hahaha.. Never let us lose our sense of humor in times like these...lest we all die with a straight face and boots by the chaise and not on our ...uhhhh.. feet..lol. Thanks for the laugh in a time of such madness. Well done Sir,

I wish I had the lack of inhibition to chronicle some of my more questionable series of actions around the place when nobody is looking . . . for me, this in an ongoing thing, having been sequestered for 6 years, I only go more & more uncivil as I lose track of norms over these years. Someone in town was suggesting that she was as uncivilized as me, now that she's sequestered all these weeks. I told her, there's a much deeper vein of weirdness that happens when you're stuck in the wilderness for 6 years, so compared to me, she's probably still quite civilized! *wink! wink!* Anyhow, I don't believe this poem has anything to do with you & the lockdown . . . I believe the lockdown is just your excuse for revealing your true longtime warping trend (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Still looking for ice cream . . . it was 100* here yesterday!

Great share my friend... in between all the sh** that is going around these days, a bit of humour goes a long way. Just to add my 2 cents worth; Q: Who are Sven War, Ollie Famine, Piter Pestilence, and Jergi Death? A: The four Norseman of the Apocolypse. bless... :-)

LOL I'll set a deadfall trap with lots of beer and wenches in a tavern named valhalla

I sense there is far more to this than meets the eye... far more than a lock down rant.. even if it does flow like runny honey off a hot knife... your way with words is second to none but you just gonna have to wait until you are up for parole... sit tight BB and stay safe my friend …. N :)

Certainly sounds like you are going stir crazy, dear Robert! Mooning the moon? Doesnt get more crazy than that! Lol. That being said, the current madness that is happening outside in the states....perhaps its best to stay locked up until everything cools down. Just adopt the meditating position of Buddha and you should manage to survive these crisis filled times. I enjoyed the wit and mono rhyme here. It suits the lighthearted desperation of your theme and tone. Stay safe, dear Robert, and dont forget to wash your Batman onesie once in a while! Much enjoyed! :))

Ha ha Bunny. I am picking up on both frustration and humour here. We all have so much time on our hands. So you have been finding things to do like I have. My house has never been so orderly and clean and my garden has had every weed plucked from sight and replaced with beautiful bedding plants. You swept me along with this little offering. Thank you and all good wishes from across the pond. If you are losing your marbles, don:t worry, we all are :)

In such times even the walls tell stories :) Humans were never meant to be so isolated, they need community, need companionship, it is hard being so divided and shut up, left alone to meander around and through the odditites that come with and from such hard moments, this did make me smile though, clever humour Robert, really enjoyed reading it :)

Hi Ruth! That makes me happy that I made you smile:)
This for me, is a fantastic poem on isolation. Fun and resignation all at one place. Dusting, brooming, rearranging are good things to do. I have a treadmill too. Yet how much and how long can one go on. The human mind needs constant stimulation! As for the grooming and shaving part sir, I’m in a pathetic state! My dating life has gone for a toss! Kudos on this great poem! Compliments on the rhyming too!

Well I for one am sick of sheltering. But I'll still do it. But I'll stop shaving and soon flaunt my own beard on zoom.
