I wrote this poem with Lightsong a while ago and after bugging her she finally gave in and sent me a voice recording so now I'm publishing this here with both of our audios linked
"I know of no greater power
Then the delicate fortitude
Of the willingness to bloom"
This is such an awesome duet of poetry and voice in a magical collaboration from dear Robert & LightSong (love to both xo). Stellar, evocative language and form. Beautiful flow, imagery, alliteration, metaphor, simile, throughout. Each of you provide a perfect accompaniment to the other - the perfect sharing of a yin/yang, masculine/feminine serenade to the rose's indomitable survival, nurtured by love. I am enchanted by both of your tender voices in this - they take the poem to another level with even more soaring heights of emotion. Kudos to both of you, my friends. Thank you so much for sharing this excellent work...
"The sheer nature of nurturing
In the sacrifice of bestow" Yes.

And I waited just long enough to hear smile Robert. That was ....quite an experience for me. The reading it as it was recited opened it , revealing so much more of the emotion and meaning. I'm awestruck! And you see...that's what happens when we meet in equal energy, side by side, beautiful!!! Powerful!
Lightsong sent me here. I'll assume you are reading this too. To hear your voice was so cool! The positives you've sent and might in the future will mean more to have your voice in my head. I'll be pondering that, and this poem for some time.

Hi, that was some powerful stuff!! Your line..to break a thing is not strength as you would have us believe...hits the poetic spot! So much meaning in that. A whole history of meaning. I have been a strong advocate for people with disabilities all my life. And believe that embodying it has been some of the best in me. And the line 'integration not equality'. Men and women will never be the same. We have to work together and those differences create the balance we need!!
That is my initial reaction. I'm going to see if I can listen to it. Be right back....
"I read the poem...it was so beautiful...I felt how connected You are with Your own peace, but, it was when I clicked on the audio...WOW...I was moved beyond words...You truly are a poet of deep emotional substance and wisdom...and the way You worked together with Robert Trakofler was like watching two graceful dancers moving together...the picture You paint inside my head...You are not just a poet, You are an artist.
If You wish to reproduce any of these words to promote this beautiful piece, You have my complete permission."
This one has an almost Asian sound to it, an awareness of the yin/yang nature of being. I think balance is the key word here, for neither phase is seen as superior or inferior to the other. Indeed, "To break a thing is not strength." When Yin and Yang are on an even keel, all is well.

Robert, dear Mr. Bunny I must admit I STILL CAN'T PLAY THE AUDIO! when I was re-reading the poem the other day when You finished posting it, I felt somehow that I appreciate your parts even more than before! I don't know why is that? maybe because now it's really "complete" or I grasped You fully now? anyway, Thank You for the opportunity, Thank You being patience with me, Thank You for pushing me until I did all the recordings :) You know You are a true gentleman with a big beautiful heart I am fortunate to have You as my dearest friend, (the title is still POWERFUL) SMILE*
I am the Bunny
but the bunny isn't me
