Sunflower Yellow

Sunflower Yellow

A Poem by G.C. Seguin

The only heaven I'll be sent to is when I'm alone with you.

Though I do not believe in a god,

Through his many wonders and glorified truth,

I believe one should applaud,

The many sacrifices,

The choices made in youth.

Though I do not belong,

In a church or religious song,

I shall love,

For love is strong,

And I shall stand right,

When I am wrong.

I shall love whomever I choose,

And hope that one day,

That love- I will never lose.

In this,

I shall pray,

That maybe there come a day,

Where my love will not be in secrecy,

Where I will be heard and not seen,

And where my love will not reside in a dream.

I may not read a bible,

Or remember every hymn title,

But I feel just as others do.

I smile because my love is true.

I cry when I’m feeling blue.

I laugh and scream too.

She is my world,

And I want to be hers,

And we do everything that others do,

Only we are sunflower yellow,

And dandelion hue,

And all the others are roses red,

And violets blue.

My favorite books are mostly horror novels or novels with a lot of feeling and truth. I began writing in elementary school in a little journal and haven't stopped since. Every now and then, my poems a.. more..
