Let me Fall

Let me Fall

A Poem by Forgotten

Let me fall,
For if you catch me I will not learn,
Dependant I will become,
For if I should fall without you...
I would not know how to land,

Let mistakes teach you,
For one cannot tell you how to live,
Or tell you what path your life will take,
Within fleeting moments your future will manifest,
Into something unexpected.

Through corporate shackles we are slaves,
Corrupted by media our lives are placed in front of us,
On silver platters we are handed our false dreams,
False smiles and lies are what our lives can become.

So step through the mirror,
Set foot into your own shoes,
For your life is not set in stone,
Life hands you the chisel,
So carve your own future upon mossy stone.

Very good poem...you were considerate in your rhythm and you shared us your view intelligently... you were right we hold our own future...life is nothing but choice anyway... that includes your doubts, your solutions to your problems and your second thoughts... life is how we make it.. it is not something that anyone can choose for us.. we set our own path and our own ideals... besides this life was given to us to spend and enjoy... Great wisdom in your words. We must taste and test life to know what we really need and want.
"Through corporate shackles we are slaves,
Corrupted by media our lives are placed in front of us,
On silver platters we are handed our false dreams,
False smiles and lies are what our lives can become."
Thank you for the outstanding poetry.

Hmmm...I'm not sure how much I liked this piece. The third stanza very much through me off. I wasn't thinking of the industrial world when I read the beginning, and then once I did read the third stanza, I simply couldn't piece it with your original message. From my opinion, media isn't what catches you when you fall. It's what pushes you down.

Nevertheless, I liked the last line. "Mossy stone." The idea of the road less traveled; instead of following everone else like a dog, choose your own path. I quite liked that.

I hope you aren't offended when I say that I wasn't fond of this piece. It's my honest opinion. I won't sugarcoat things. From the looks of the reviews below me, a great many people liked this piece. I just wasn't one of those people. That's fine, though; you can't please everyone.

Thank you for sharing,
Savannah

This is a beautiful and moving piece of poetry.
I love the lines:
"For if I should fall without you...
I would not know how to land,"
In the first stanza there are commas at the end of lines, so
would possibly start next lines without capital letters.
On the last line (which is also a perfect way to finish) I would
maybe ad "a" before stone.
Enjoyed this very much,
