Teacups n' Ivy

Teacups n' Ivy

A Poem by Fran Marie

A basket of
flower seeds needing
to be sown
empty teacups without
company visiting
the home
and Ivy leaf's
green glistening
lovely as ever had
shown

Still ....

they're not people
to touch.. caress. and
kiss
to hold each other
nightly..and tightly
these are the
things I miss

when will this
deadly nightmare
end
and can we start anew
going to and fro
to do what we used
to do

I cannot fathom
just existing
much longer as we are
but rather be living
reaching for the sun
no matter how
near or far

thanks Julie
i s o appreciate
your words😊
We have had such freedom of association and movement for so long that the isolation imposed by this crisis is wearing hard on many. Yet the reality seems to be that if we return to mingling we will just be prolonging the agony. The words of Thomas Paine seem appropriate: "These are the times that try men's souls."
