Liz! what have you done

10 word contest write

 No ESCAPE for ole Liz

her mundane life had

no DAZZLE..

even a FLY had more fizz

each day she dreamed

to meet a HANDSOME beau

 and having a mansion on the hill

her FRAME of mind

grew more twisted

WHISPERING to her

those she had to kill.

 perhaps skinning her

mom with a DEER KNIFE

crossed her mind 

and how quaint she thought

 for dad to come

home and a body to find.

The old crone had been 

a thorn in Lizzie's hair

and Liz laughed a FLIPPANT laugh

 as she stripped herself bare

She thought more 

power had an axe

to deliver to mum

and dad the fatal whacks

Oh yes,it was TABOO

to speak of such dirty deeds

but Liz was full

of deadly greed

she darn well knew it was wrong

Now the children sing Lizzie's song..

Lizzie Borden took an axe..gave her mother

forty whacks

when she saw what she 

had done...

well.. I suppose we 

all know the rest..

I saw the pic of elizabeth montgomery and I was thinking something more wholesome...I think i had a crush on her as a kid:) but turns out twas a bit of macabre in these lines:( poor bewitched Lizzie:/ she did so confuse the sensibilities of her day and her day was a confusing set of sensibilities to say the least. the things that happened behind the closed doors of polite society back then could raise the goosebumps of even todays mindset. nicely penned surprises in this poem Fran:)
