Sweeter than sin..

Sweeter than sin..

A Poem by Fran Marie

 yes

your kiss excites me
your caress sends my
senses spinning
 beneath a midnight moon

I wait for you..
wondering if you can
once again find me

my desire grows impatient
I'm lost when you're not here.

I know loving you is wrong
when you belong
to another
but I'm helpless
 to withdraw my love

to say

I don't love you.
I don't want you
I don't need you..

when I know
 in my heart
It's a damn lie

   yeah ..I have tried
hopelessly to release
these feelings of love
into the midnight winds ..

to chase away
lustful thoughts
of making you mine

yet I find I cannot
for I find your love
for me is just a little bit
sweeter than sin

Fran, I'd say "yes" is the right answer here. These are the words rarely spoken. It's a natural trajectory to love, and the brain struggles to reconcile the moral with the natural inclinations. Your last stanza is how we rationalize our behavior, but for the loving part of the brain, it's how it's supposed to be. Another well crafted poem that shows both vulnerability and humility. Surprised I'm the first to review this one.

Sometimes, it's hard to let go. Being in an in-between state of giving up or holding onto is tough.
Wonderfully expressed feelings and written so effortlessly. I think, the way you started out your poem - "yes", tells all and the way you end it giving it a reason why it could be nothing but "yes" . By nature, we are to love and give love - it's hard to take back and not let the emotions run through. Great write!
