Tightrope

Tightrope

A Poem by Fran Marie

Life is just a walk
on a high tightrope
with too many
loopholes and lax
in the middle..
to snag your dreams
like silk stockings with
crooked seams...

seems never ending.
bending with fears
lending tears as
you fall wearing slippery shoes
throwing frustration down
on a balancing act
without a net

net profits.. zero
in empty pockets
with occasional
chump change
for the blues playing
on a jukebox in a bar
somewhere down the road

Your poem is a powerful reflection on the challenges and uncertainties of life, and the way that the world can often feel like a precarious balancing act with no safety net. I loved the way that you used vivid imagery and powerful language to convey the idea that life can be difficult and challenging, but that even in our darkest moments, there is always a glimmer of hope and beauty to be found. Your words are a powerful reminder of the courage and strength that it takes to keep moving forward, even when the road ahead seems long and difficult.

dear Fran… we were born to walk a
Rocky Road… where Sunflowers grow over the broken fence. We are drawn to Old Barns where Hay and Straw will be our Bed as Time goes by.

I can really identify with this. And the older you get, the further down the road that jukebox plays.

I so appreciate
It seen we are always walking on a Tightrope. Almost ready to fall and just holding on. If we do fall? Could be a dead-end? I liked the poetry. You made the reader ponder and think. Thank you dear Fran for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Thanks John..so true
many pit- falls along life's journey
wonderful images Fran, and by the way welcome back!!! it's been a long time.... life isn't always smooth; it can be jerky, bumpy and terrifying sometimes as you suggest in this well crafted piece...you mention "empty pockets" and "blues"..." crooked seams"..all point to the fact that life is teetering on the edge and not always a steady road....well dome!
Best, B
