Tree of Enlightenment

Tree of Enlightenment

A Poem by Fran Marie

Ivory clouds drift upon azure skies
another day to open our eyes
therein this tree
         dangles each key..
    to unlock knowledge

treasure troves
await the probing genes
 within our psych to grow

those pages of rustic books
are dusted' butterflies
                        taking flight..

we have longed to know.
      the hidden pieces within
each leaf...

like an advantage power play
at volley ball games
      an antidote of blossoms
to never be at a loss

Good afternoon Fran Marie,
Delighted to read another one of your interesting poems..
I so enjoyed verse two and three
treasure troves
await the probing genes
within our psych to grow
those pages of rustic books
are dusted' butterflies
taking flight..
Gosh, the though behind those words.. loved it..

That first stanza a descriptive delight Fran. Truly beautiful. Enlightenment, how we all long for that. The key to knowing and understanding.A lovely composition. You never disappoint, consistently posting lovely work. Thank you.

You are most welcome Fran.
A thirst for knowledge is a good thing. I prefer real books rather than kindle, or on-line stuff. I do read on-line blogs and such-like, but you can't beat a real book. A book is tactile, and even the smell of the pages is a nice thing sometimes. After saying all that, I enjoyed your poem!

Yes;I agree..real books are best
thanks for the kind review😊
Is this about the Bodhi tree? Nonetheless, I enjoyed reading this poem. Everyday we wake up and have the power to seek knowledge and we must do so with kindness and gentleness because our attainment of knowledge allows us to become more in tune with the world, expanding our compassion towards other beings like the butterfly waiting to take flight.
