Watercolor Whispers

Watercolor Whispers

A Poem by Fran Marie

I ascend

with watercolor whispers
of lilac and lavender pastels
swirls of silver curls
dance in my hair
forming foam
waves of a new season

I bring
scents of honeysuckle
In summer's last heated nights

soft pink and powder blue hues
blend and bend to rosy shades
of sapphire's breathing
autumn's amber breath

a new dawning
performing her art

This is lovely! I gather that the poem was written around the image, which is so, so pretty. You have included such pretty language: "watercolor whispers," "swirls of silver curls," "waves of a new season," sapphire's breathing autumn's amber breath." These are such beautiful descriptions of a woman in her later years. Perfect!

And absolutely beautiful poem that caresses the heart and the mind of the reader. Like a leisurely stroll through an autumn garden, your poem blooms with the most amazing flowers. I really enjoyed this.

The flow of the words here is amazing. Just as smooth as water itself. I hope to write like this someday. Great poem, Fran. :)
