Fair Maiden Rose

Fair Maiden Rose

A Poem by Fran Marie
"

Unrequited Love~Rondeau Form~

"

Fair Maiden Rose sat still to pose

donned a silk sheet in lieu of clothes

He smiled with each stroke of his brush

Rose deep in thought, yet she did blush

and wondered if the artist knows

her envisioned love for him grows

as a handsome romantic beau

Shy, she remained in silent hush

Fair Maiden Rose

Charmed in his presence she arose

Slipping into her silk dress robe

as he applied the paint's last touch

his goodbye kiss revealed so much

he named the painting, she supposed

"Fair Maiden Rose"

I like this style, I should try out the rondeau form
Nice poem based on a picture prompt, I like the little love story taking place
If I may ask, did you have a certain meter in mind for it?
Or does a rondeau have a specified meter type?
I like the reference to my name, nice one ;)
(sorry couldn't resist)
Good poem, I enjoyed it!

Ooooo this is just gorgeous!! A very beautiful poem and I do love this form, although always find it a challenge.
The imagery is gorgeous and the poem unique and special. Loved it from start to finish!
Just the kind of thing I am looking for!

thanks so very much;
Wow! So delicate and so tender....Lovely lines with a perfectly smooth flow...evoking romance in a pristine form...elegant and elevated...and the painting accompanying the poem is so apt... this write leaves the reader in a trance...

Ohh, spendid imagery, and it has style too ...it's a lot more different than love poems around, revailing the passion between the lovers in an original way.

It's so simplistic and beautiful, I really love it! It also reminds me of Jack Dawson drawing Rose in "Titanic" but I like this imagery better.
