Because

Because

A Poem by Fran Marie

I'm going to write in my journal today
memories of yesterday
and of course my darling
you shall hold a page or two
not only in my book of memoirs
but in my happy heart too

I'll write of how we first met
and the intimate meetings I shant forget
those cozy nights embraced in your arms
entranced by all your loving charms

I'll tell of how you tripped my senses
tapping into my emotions
stirring my deep desires
into passionate moments

Of the time we dared the stars not to shine
in a world that was just yours and mine
private thoughts we shared within our soul
the deep serenity of losing control

I'll write of our love beneath a sapphire sky
and a diamond moon climbing high
I'll write the many words you whispered to me
of this and so much more and what you mean to me

    this because I love thee

This is absolutely beautiful! I love poetry that romanticizes the moon and stars.

the privacy of a journal seems reflected here as I am not so much invited to be part of this romantic recollecting ... me thinks your speaker will end up with a book however ;) i am glad in closing the hint is that the love story continues .. i am an optimist ;}

:) .................
I like this idea -- telling a story about telling a story. So we know there's some kind of distance between the narrator & the beloved . . . it leaves us wondering why . . . where did this relationship go, that it's only alive now in the pages of one's journal? I like the opening stanza, which sets everything up nicely. I feel the 2nd stanza is expressing "love" in predictable ways. The 3rd stanza is where this poem finally starts to cut loose & really pour out the feelings in a more exciting & palpable way. I'm not clear on "the deep serenity of losing control" (sounds like an oxymoron). All in all, very nice loving tribute to this beloved person.

This is truly a beautiful piece.
Its full of romance, passion, heat, emotion, depth and so much more.
I love this piece, it was truly written straight from your hearty, and that's what makes an amazing poem.
Some poem's i have read on here make little sense, or are to hard to understand or quite get the meaning to, i understand this clearly haha.
This was brilliantly penned.
Your a great writer, i loved the way it was written out, and the rhyming is amazing :)
Keep writing :)
