BIG!

BIG!

A Poem by Fran Marie

Deep in the forest where the tall grass grows

there a creature lives that no one knows

Swiftly, so swiftly he runs without a sound

and only bigfoot prints have ever been found

Noone has ever seen this thing

some call him sasquash just to give him a name

But some tell the tale 'round a campfire light

about a bigfooted creature roaming the site

He's just a big blur in black and white

photos can't be proven wrong or right

Now I'm sure this creature knows a few forest friends

who vowed to keep his secret from mere mortal men

And yes, he might be friendly as can be

but will never reveal himself to you or me

So the tale keeps spinning on each time taking on a new tone

about the bigfoot creature who lives in the forrest alone

And if by chance one day you see this half beast-half man

run, yes, run as very fast as you can

A mysterious beast-man, roaming the forest, only by tale, because only his foot prints are telling. I like the way you introduced him as "Bigfoot" and that no one has seen him, but tales tend to grow and spread form mouth to mouth. But, watch out, you may see him someday, then run!!
Enjoyed this Fran.
Best, B.

That's one creature I don't
want to run into..thanks Betty
for reading...😊
It'san overstatement when people say there aren't any more blank spots on the map of the world anymore. There are lots of things we don't know.
As Hamlet says: “And therefore as a stranger give it welcome. There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.”

Love this catchy, sweet, storytelling Sasquatch camp song/poem Fran Marie. Whoo that scary photo! Superb couplets with great flow, musicality, rhyme, imagery, alliteration. Have been around Adirondack Mountain campfires with my kids and grandkids telling the exact tale (but watered down so not to frighten the young ones too much-ha!). Will share it with them now because they will love it too- all well-deserved credit to you of course:). Thanks for this!

Being a native Texan, I can really appreciate this one! Y'all just leave him alone now, ya heyah! You did a great job with this. I love your imagination, it's wild and vivid and very well expressed in all your writing! Keep it up, Fran!
