RISING

RISING

A Poem by FRANK

Night falls, and I awaken

Slipping softly into the darkness
and blending well within silent shadows

I walk within my chosen home
Of gentle whispers from windows above
And nuances of nearby steets

And if you look closely
You will see me slowly rising
Without a desire or need for wings
So close, yet beyond reach

For I have learned the secret of survival
As it has been betrothed to me
Through sufferings of lessons learned

From love lossed and delivered once again through tears
The secret is the willingness to walk the night

And awaken peacefully within it
