Opposite Action

Opposite Action

A Poem by Celie Rose
"

managing anger.

"
Opposite Action
there are many ways of
expressing angry feelings.
what would you do?
would you be losing your cool?
perhaps doing something foolish?
anger can be great when it is
displayed.
a crisis situation breaking off.
intense emotion escalating a lot.
anger is building, brewing and boiling,
insides are toiling in complete turmoil,
having blinders on the left
and the right.
a black spot blind-sided
in both eyes.
peripheral view has decreased,
seeing through a stripped red
and blue straw is what is seen.
physical confrontation
may be involved,
solving the problem at large.
having narrow vision
without wisdom or insight.
a brawl or a big fight
is likely tonight.
anger is like the bull
who is raging,
and there is no way
of escaping.
from the nostrils and ears
forced steam blows,appearing
slowly evaporating and dissipating.
careless anger is ready
to be expressed

a cockfighting red rooster,
afflicting brutal trauma.
possessing congenital aggression
defending territory and hens,
fighting to the death
to win.
a hot teapot whistling,
the vapors are so extreme.
sounding the alarm that you
are in danger
of doing something duped
and utterly stupid.
losing composure and control,
dynamically about to explode,
never giving any thought
to the consequences,
displaying a reckless behavior,
instead of using opposite action
tactics that are favored.
this should have been the
interaction within.
nevertheless opposite action is
changing the emotion.
also called opposite to emotion action.
a learned technique to temporarily
defeat intense harmful provocation
and provoked emotion.
opposite action is by no means easy.
it must be practiced and practiced
to gain satisfaction.
it is a potion or skill with a mixture
of precise and helpful ingredients,
a timely and needed intervention,
a necessary mention.
walking away from the heated
conversation or ugly situation at hand,
this is a thoughtful plan.
also distracting ourselves
by doing something else.
it should be positive, constructive
and productive.
it will slow down the locomotive train
of steaming anger.
by doing this, it will counteract
the pitch of high-strung stress,
a good lesson.
thumbs up to this technique.
it works and is worth it.
give it a testing.
first leave and get away from
that intense space.
find a quiet place if you can,
having the notion to focus
on breathing second by second,
and minute by minute.
do not rush the thoughts.
take time to finish up.
relax and breath in and out,
feeling the relief and anger diminishing
and going out.
inhale and exhale slowly,
inhaling calmness and exhaling
the anger that strangles.
opposite action is a learned
and beneficial reaction.

Hard to do and we must try.
"opposite action is by no means easy.
it must be practiced and practiced
to gain satisfaction."
To re-direct bad actions take patience and skill. Thank you dear Poet for sharing the amazing wisdom and words.

It is the truth with those words one must learn to understand what shakes thee to thy mortal core. Anger is as love is the strongest emotion. These tow things mean the same thing to the mind. It is something that consumes us all. If our love walks away, we feel rage. If we find out love, we are consumed by the lady called hope. We do whatever we must do to gain the hand of the one we seek. May you know charity and peace, my friend,

I love the flow of this one, and the subtle and so important lesson it teaches.

This is a very interesting poem and I found very informative as well. I know the feeling of not being able to control anger in the midst of an argument because I've experienced that feeling one too many times. I enjoyed reading your poem and I also find it inspiring that your poem not only entertains its readers but it informs readers. Keep up the good work and good luck in your future endeavors. I look forward to reading more writing by you in the future.

Well... I've had a few of those moments. Hehehehe... Some people actually like hospital food I guess...so much they ate it for six months, after successfully killing my nerves...good times...

The wisdom of your words is the real quiddity of this poem, you manage to be informative without lecturing and yet you offering a lesson like viewpoint. Well done Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap!.

You make a really good point in your poem about doing the opposite of something to get good results. Especially the last part where it states something about learning from obstacles and you can learn from it. For example there was this one quote that Steve Harvey said on his show about the Miss Universe mishap and he said something that goes along the lines of: " with mistakes there is a lesson and a blessing." So overall this is what I have thought of when I read your poem.
