Versifier.

The poet crafts his work,

his words may be few, many, short or long.

Packed with power they deliver a mighty blow

to pinpoint injustice and wrong.

 

He paints wondrous images

which flow from his poetic pen

as he builds them up word by word

until they look just right to him.

 

Different figures of speech are used.

He may write of love or life abused.

Life and death flow in his ink

on any subject he can think.

 

Providing words on any theme.

Polishing them until they gleam.

Their beauty taking our breath away,

happy scenes vivid and gay.

 

One day he may reflect on past years.

Haunting memories may bring tears.

What he will write only he can decide

and in his work he takes great pride.

 

For anyone can pen their own.

But only a poet can pen a poem!

I find a writer very deft and flexible with their way of expression, a writer saves us a lot of time, influences us the way we need to be, sometimes they remind us things we forget or things we are afraid to see, in any manner they are beyond normal with their range of observations and agility to express their ideas, I simply feel so ambitious when I think of myself as a writer, this poem has been reflective of how skilled a writer is while at the same time how twisted his thoughts process could be to have his feelings dwell and swing so often in his words, love the work of rhymes and their connective way to show us the meaning in this poem, you have skillfully crafted a thought provoking piece of poem there my friend!
