Your poem captures a moment of stillness in the world, highlighting both the beauty and eeriness of a quiet night.
Imagery used is so good, a very lovely poem. The wind is described as "howling" and "singing," and the sky is said to "sobs," giving these elements human-like qualities that enhance the emotional tone.
The alliteration used "little dog barks" and "patter of human feet" creates a musical quality. NICELY DONE.
Thanks for sharing.

You painted a poetic november day. The cold is chilly but your poem brings warmth in the winter coziness.
With the muteness in air and tunes of the rain you describes the weather so beautifully. Enjoyed your poem Marie, it sure sets our imagination to pass the cold dark periods with rich drama of your words.

Storm Bert passed through the weekend and left a huge trail of destruction behind him. Our home is set on higher ground so we escaped, but over 100 households were evacuated when our lovely river burst its banks. Most unusual weather for us, but Storm Bert was an exception! Thank you again, dear Aarti. I am most appreciative, dear friend...

Winter seems to have come early in this offering. The couplets describe scenes more Like January than November. The streets are deserted, the wind howls, the people are in their warm beds. These things may be symbolic of something, but I rather think they're just describing an unseasonable night in Ireland.

I follow the Celtic Calendar, dear friend. Last Saturday, thanks to Storm Bert one hundred families had to be evacuated from our lovely town because due to the very heavy rainfall our lovely River Feale burst its banks. Town was impassible! A bg cleanup job began this morning. With Irish weather you never know what kind you will experience in a day and on a bad day you could enjoy all four seasons! Thank you for reading and commenting, dear J. B. I am most grateful and appreciative, dear friend...
