The escapists

The escapists

A Poem by Frozen Eyes
"

Abandoned again

"
Why does it have to be that way?
Dream all you can, wait for wishes to be fulfilled someday
They make you believe that fairy tales can be true
They'd gradually sneak past your skin, hypnotize you
Raise hopes, provide mortar for your castle in the air
Then when you shed the cocoon of your fear
And you are ready to spread your wings and fly
They'll set your wings on fire and run away...
Why oh why does it always have to be this way!?

This poem is heartbreaking. One could only read and hope that healing will
find its way to the soul. Once again, your pen scoops the reader up and
forces them to feel what you want them to feel. Powerful voice.
