I was wearing a dark green eyeshadow and a teal eyeliner recently. I
paired it with a nude lip. I thought I looked good and pretty. I didn't
see anything wrong with my makeup. My mother and I were talking about
makeup and she said that she thought my makeup looked like "clown
makeup". I was utterly offended. My makeup was expressive of who I am
and my artistic feelings that day. Who is she to say that I looked like a
clown? I've never seen a clown who can do makeup like I can, let me
just say that. What is wrong with bright colors and fun makeup? Nobody
can say that it is not classy, as many a Psychobilly woman wears bright
makeup. It's a part of the fashion and the look. My mom says that the
makeup that I wear isn't very professional. Keep in mind that I am 16.
She says I can wear it now because I'm so young, but when I'm older I
have to wear neutral makeup. Why? In a world where we are judged by
appearances, how do we know when to stop "clowning" around?
How do you feel about bright makeup? What's some of your favorite bright eye products and lip products?
