My Man

My Man

A Poem by Beatles9322
"

Eric!

"
Superficiality has never been my forte.
I scorned at such shallow ideas.
Yet, every day I find myself flabbergasted
when I learn who has a man.

Cassie has a man of her own.
She is awkwardly endearing but
is not considered a beauty.
Does her man see her compassionate nature?

Christine, too, has a boyfriend.
She is short and sweetly stout.
Yet, she has a boyfriend.
Does her man like her infectious laugh?

Kristen is engaged to the love of her life.
She is rather rotund but oh so cute.
She will walk down the aisle soon.
Does her man love her sweet temperament?

Why is it that I am sans homme?
I am, as some say, a natural beauty.
They say I have a fine personality to match.
So why am I alone?

I have decided to relinquish
my fears about my plump body
and thick dark curly locks.
I will GET and KEEP my man!
