I lay awake.

I lay awake.

A Poem by Douglas Levi Gribbins
"

A bit of imagery here, you really have to read in between the lines.

"
I lay awake, but unconscious
Something my conscience calls conscious
I wake blind, but my visions stay
I envision the ending of this race.
But at this pace, i stay in place.
My motivation was misplaced.
I pray that someday i actually wake,
Well i say that day is today.

I really like "My motivation was misplaced". I feel like that a lot.

Very well done. I think we all face this feeling from time to time.

I love the simplicity of it, you really let the words breath and I think that was in your best interest. Nice job DLG.

I wake blind, but my visions stay
I envision the ending of this race.

Amazing lines. Dark plot and a sense of renewal. I'm a big admirer of your poems! Dark yet always teaching you something. Great job!
