Dear God

Dear God

A Poem by George David Hope

                                                                                  DEAR GOD
When you say a prayer to God almighty
Where exactly does it go
Well I'm going to tell you a secret
It's about time you all did know
There's an angel who's called Doris
Who receives each and every prayer
She files them all away
Each hope and every care
Some are from children
Some from those who've lost their way
Some from people who have concerns
That their partners they do stray
Some who have money problems
And cannot pay their bills
Some who have health issues
And need a cure for their ills
Some are from those who've lost a loved one
And hope they've made it to the light
Some pray for other
Hoping every thing will be alright
So the next time you're kneeling by your bedside
Hands clenched beside your face
Just remember Angel Doris
And know she's on the case

Glad you enjoyed it. Didn't take me long to come up with. I wouldn't say my poems are the best as I'.. read more
Nice piece of humour with a serious message built into the framework. A rhyming piece for those struggling with issues, so long as they believe in God and angels!
