Phony desires

Phony desires

A Poem by Gaurav
"

Some lives are doomed in lies

"
It is the strange path, one that i have never taken before
Life can be a path of chaos, i never knew..
When did i start losing the grip on passion?
when did it all seem to go in vain?
when did solace become the thing of the past?
and how i murdered the rest of me?
Some stories are better told while living.
The evenings don't welcome happy nights
peace of sunshine is lost in dust of mind,
days carry the burden of soul
moments ask me to live for once.
I am wrapped in truth of expectations
from where commence the sadness of hearts,
blood runs from body to blankness
as if all that matters is a love to nothingness.
This is the story of ordinary mass
caged in its entirety
to gravitational pull of
big phony desires.

This is one of the most intense & powerful messages I've read all week & I've read a lot this week. We live in a consumer era & the media bombards us with messages designed to make us feel empty & needing some fix, as if buying something will make us feel bigger & better than we do. You have shown this from the point of view of a person recognizing this downfall in himself. You speak with such humility, a reader can't even hate this guy for being a materialistic chump. Instead, you present this guy in a way so that his weaknesses are understandable, relatable, even lovable. I love it when a poet shows such a vivid slice of humanity & weakness without making it a judgment statement. This is such a well-detailed view of what goes thru people's heads becuz, as humans, we are all contradictions & full of hypocrises! Your message really hits the nail on the head of this issue! Too high expectations of life lead to much unhappiness. You can want more and more, but that really doesn't make you any happier. Keep life simple. It is the simplest of pleasures that have the most meaning. Simple isn't costly. Anyone can enjoy simple if they put their mind to it. Follow your own mind and not the masses. Interesting write. I enjoyed where you took me.

true..sure will remember your words :)
oh my...listless living...hope bashed...feeling no happiness with people or in solitary...not at peace with the world or oneself...because there is no peace, no truth...only lies and deceit.
thinking about this subject matter makes my blood run very cold.
