Turning Away

Turning Away

A Poem by Fae
"

A poem of bearing your heart and being rejected.

"

I bear my soul to you...and you reject it.

I finally find the words with which to speak my inner-most truth...and you stomp them.

You stomp them as literally as a boot crushing fingers laid out on the hard ground.

You shut me out, refuse to shout, refuse to hear, refuse to accept my swollen, bleeding heart.

I put it all out for you alone.

You alone.

I thought you would understand.  I thought you were to one who  wouldn't leave

                                  wouldn't push me away.

                                  who would stay.

Well you stayed alright, but in your own head.

Wherever you are, I'm not invited in.

Because while I pour my heart and soul and all of the colors that I see and hear and feel so deeply,

out in full for you to see,

As I paint this vivid mural of my swirling reality of love, truth, and full-expression...of me,

you crush it in your hand.

You turn and walk away.

I really thought you would be the one...to understand.
