We Walk Alone...Sometimes

We Walk Alone...Sometimes

A Poem by Girl Friday (Sarah W.)

incandescent circling     this is life,

as we paint the sky like fluorescing insects

connecting the dots of constellations

buzzing     ever closer to a muted moon,

where our wax wings remain rigid     despite

their cynically crude construction

because living is sometimes knowing

the dull lull of isolation     it is trusting

our blindness (hysterical or not)     and

continuing to speak, even when

no one is listening     writing even when

our words are no longer being read

Holy cowbirds Batman! Girl Friday wrote a poem about me! She must be more sneaky than the Penguin and not at all a Joker with her poetry. We need to find out how she can write our hearts deepest ponderings. Maybe she has a bat psychic recording device!
I don't think the bat cave is secure any longer...
Same time next week...
I wonder if the readers will find us before it is too late?

(ok... Long day. Gotta give me a break. Ha.)
Loved the poem! Hit home. Really. I was deflecting do I didn't cry like a girl... ;)

'yes yes', i was thinking, 'living is sometimes knowing', and so happy in the thought, and then i fell off the cliff into the next line with 'the dull lull of isolation' which has no bottom, but then, but then i was pulled out with 'it is trusting our blindness, though i stumbled a little at 'hysterical' hating to admit i have hurled those stones...o me, o my, you do take a guy for a ride, which is i think what a good poem should to...hi Sarah

I tend to get a little overly "hysterical" at times...haha Thank you so much, Ed!

'hysterical' is worse for us than greasy food
Your choice of words and phrases are surely a very strong part of the real you, more as the emotional woman than the tactitian. There's a distinct feeling of self, not in a selfish or arrogant manner, but in your awareness of life and what it holds, what you've made and are making of it.

'.. it is trusting ~ our blindness (hysterical or not) and ~ continuing to speak, even when ~ no one is listening writing .. '

Surely we each have a right to opinion and worth, whatever their quality; it's a God-given right, part of living life? In my book, here you express self as a justifiably true entity and, superbly well.

The closer we get to Winter, the more frequently I find myself looking up at the stars...I have to say I would never think of Dedalus and Icarus though haha There's a sly bit of irony (maybe more than sly) in associating them not with the sun but the moon, which is cold enough to keep their wings rigid...I loved the dull lull of isolation as well...I can't explain it, but phonetically it just sounds like isolation...may the incandescent circle be unbroken...

Sometimes when the dots are all joined the resultant picture may not be the master-piece as planned!

Though this poem is a metaphorical master-piece, glad to see your quill is working well Friday!

Your words are well-read, my friend. But yes, art is best when it is written from a place love and truth.
