Verse 37: 4 a.m.

A Chapter by Glen Yumang Manese

4 a.m.

Moon is a bright bulb at this hour.

Sun has not risen to call the day.

Sleep is not the issue at the present.

Watch says four a.m. in the morning.

Flight time to destination will be twenty-six hours.

Give or take a minute for delay.

Even the weather condition seems uncomfortable to bear.

Yet, all is a blanket of white clouds below.

Close my eyes only to endure the long haul ahead.

Memories flash in front of me on projection screen.

Drifting is my mind in and out of consciousness to silence.

Only the pressure on my eardrum awakes me to know.

Life with you is never bleak a situation.

Lying next to priceless tells me travel is tiring.

Time controls not a measure of distance in our meeting.

Fifteen years have succumb to finding life has come full circle.

Where travel is not just a destination, but enroot to living.
