Half a heart

Half a heart

A Poem by GoDBOUND 07

A person functions with half a heart
but does not live until made whole.
Half-hearts come in different shapes and sizes
Each half holding a distinct role.

It takes a lifetime to find it out there
the half that fits your half.
Effort is needed to find the right half
unless you use magic, a wand or a staff.

There are those who can't wait
to be whole and so they hurry.
Rushing the process, they sew
their half to another without worry.

But thin thread cannot do much to hold
two halves with different hopes and dreams.
After the fabric is worn and ravaged by time,
the halves slowly break apart by the seams.
