Letter to a friend?

Excuse Me

I got a letter just the other day

from a friend of days gone past

a friend that shared her heart

I had tried to reach her for a couple of years

I was so excited

but then

it really had nothing to say

other than they were sorry

that they had wasted

their time

talking to me

would I please destroy

all correspondence

all photos

all feelings

no thank yous,

no I'm sorrys,

no how are yous

how cold

how do they look at themselves

in the mirror each day

and think to themselves

boy, I am one terrific

representative

of the human species

Long time no see, my good friend. What a powerful therapy poetry can be. It is amazing all the old emotions a simple letter can stir in us all just to have those feelings cut down and ripped out.

I've been involved in making music lately, finding tunes to apply some of my poetry on the international web site Wikiloops. thousands of musicians doing original tunes and so I have taken back to singing and adding some of the poetry to the melodies that are being created by these folk. So this is my baby now, not quite the same as a granddaughter :)
