Itch in my Brain

There's an itch in my brain, and I just can't scratch it

it's been there now, for almost 14 days

went to see my doctor, he said, just can't explain it

I have looked at it now in over 50 different ways

Do you think it's a tumor, could it be it's a growth

I need to get some rest now, I'm feelin like a putz

no he said, you can eliminate them both

I'm more concerned about the swelling in your nuts

he stared at my crotch, and kind of shook his head

said it looks pretty bad, you might need a transfusion

I grabbed him by the collar, “it's my brain” I said

this whole crotch thing, leaves me in confusion

Well let me take another look, just 1 more time

I must have missed something, though I don't know why

what's that sound I hear, it sounds like a chime

no by jove, I think I've found a fly

there's a fly in my head, is that what's wrong

can you get it out, do I need an operation

sounds like the lyrics to a Todd Rungren song

you need to call someone else, I'm going on vacation

So that's the way it is, that's the way it's going

there's a song in my brain, and my girl has left me cold

so that's the real itch, is my broken heart showing

guess I'm not crazy, just tired and old

One small spelling error.
I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be "swelling in your nuts" as opposed to "swelling in you nuts."

I like the color scheme, but maybe stick to just two colors. It's sort of much to look at when first reading the poem, and my eyes have to get used to the brightness. :P

But as far as your writing. Very well done. Clever.
I enjoyed the whimsical nature of the poem.

Quality stuff here! I love how you didn't leave us before letting us know just what was wrong with his nuts! That would have bugged me all day, like the fly in his head I suppose. (pun, sorry) This made me smile as I skipped along with each line.

So funny! I had fun reading it. I like the progression of this poem to the ending where you explain the real problem. The doctor's diagnosis is funny, yet it is often true that people get diagnosed and get a label for their symptoms and the label doesn't get at the root of the problem, which in this poem is a broken heart.

The colors of the font work well with the poem, as well as the transitions from brain to nuts to heart. And when i read it i kept thinking what was it a tumore or a disease etc. So there is defenetly some good imagery.

This is a brilliant piece of work and very very funny!! I love this poem. The disarming way in which it discusses the relatively serious issue involved is a breath of fresh air, and a reassurance and consolation to those who can relate.
"There's a fly in my head, is that what's wrong" --->>> i really like that perspective - it's funny but at the same time powerful..
And then summing-up the whole problem in the last verse adds a credibility to this poem that raises it above normality...
Quality.
