The Rock and The Island

The Rock and The Island

A Poem by DeadToTheWorld

Ive built walls, A fortress high and mighty
That none pay penetrate.
I have no need for friendship, friendship causes pain.
It's laughter and it's loving I disdain.
I am a rock, I am an Island.

Don't talk of love, Well Ive heard that word before.
It's sleeping in my memory.
I wont disturb the the slumber of feeling's that've died.
If I never loved I never would have cried.
I am a rock, I am an Island.

And a rock feels no pain.
And an Island never cries.

People fear death even more than pain. It's strange that they fear death. Life hurts a lot more than death. At the point of death, the pain is over. Yeah, I guess it is a friend.

And an Island never cries."

Stunning words here, such a deep powerful write.
I thought this was a very well descriptive write.
Nicely written!!!
