Rise From the Ashes

Rise From the Ashes

A Poem by Nicholas Duboe
"

A poem on the past being behind you as you pick yourself up and rise like a phoenix.

"

Rise From the Ashes

My past is behind me,

though it still breathes down my neck,

and I feel like I am fixed again,

but still broken from the wreck.

And maybe I'm still picking up pieces,

but at least it's something to do,

simply gathering up whats left of me,

to compile it into something new.

So I hope you come and see when I'm done,

the person I can create from the crashes,

and learn first hand what it really means,

For a phoenix to rise from it's ashes.
