A Chapter by Green Regol
"

Something's finally happening.

"
Anthony's made it clear he likes me. He keeps bringing up the fact that I have a boyfriend. As he walked me back to my dorm moments ago, he called me impractical. i thought it was because I'd forgotten my student ID card. Without it, I couldn't get back to my dorm. In the end all was well - Anthony let me borrow his drivers license. I waved it at the security guard and he let me pass.
So I told Anthony, "I didn't realize we'd be leaving the dorm building, I only brought my cell phone and my keys - I thought we were gonna just sit and talk like we were doing before."
He just shook his head and said, "Long distance relationship."
Oh. I laughed.
"So who's this special guy?" he asked.
"Huh?" I didn't completely hear him.
"Who's your boyfriend?"
"His name is Douglas."
"Ah. Where's he going to school? What state?"
"Ohio. It's actually closer than Jersey." I also told him Doug's going to Case Western. He said he's heard of it, so it must be a god school.
"What's he studying?" he asked.
"Uh. Biomedical engineering...something."
Anthony was somewhat blown away. "Wow. He's smart. He's a smart guy."
"Yeah." I was gonna mention he was the 5th smartest in our class, but instead tried to explain what I thought biomedical engineering something was. "I think he's learning how to grow organs or something."
"Wow. He's gonna help people. I'm a film major." The way he said it sounded like he was degrading himself, but then he defended himself. "I make people laugh - I'm an entertainer."
"That's okay. Happiness is good."
He was smiling and laughing a little, but I could tell his heart wasn't in it. "Long distance relationship. You're the third one."
"It's okay," I said. I felt kind of bad, but...there wasn't really anything for me to do. I gave him a hug before we parted.

I am attracted to him. I admit, I've fantasized. In fact, I'm still fancying some thoughts. But that's only because Doug isn't here. I'm forgetting what it's like to be with him, and I can't let that ruin us. I've promised both him and myself that I wouldn't break up with him because of someone else. It wouldn't be right.
Even if I wasn't dating Doug, there are some things to consider. I just met Anthony. He could be like Josh, still - a prick in disguise. I date people thinking we'd have a chance at forever - it seems like he dates just to have a girlfriend. I'm taking it I'm the third girl he's tried to win over? That's not appealing.
Also, I don't know him, he doesn't know me. It's too soon to really open up, but that's what I like to do with my boyfriends.
If I were to date him, it'd pretty much be because he flatters me and I miss snuggling.

Author's Note

Green Regol
This skips an entire five days' worth of events. I think you can figure out what's going on as the story progresses, though.

Not a great reason to date a new guy.......

I like your writing though. Its entertaining, easy to follow, and well thought out.
