Masks

Masks

A Poem by Rogue Daffodil
"

We all wear masks, but who are we really?

"

Masks

I wear a Mask of Transformation

I change each face you see

All that you know is an Illusion, all that you feel, a fallacy

To suit each situation

I become what you want most

But ever you remember, my form is but a ghost

That which dwells within

The Truth above all truths

The reflection in the Mirrored Wall, was never me, ‘twas you

I am but a shell

A chrysalis of sorts

And if you truly seek to know, walk the long Path, not the short

Hardship is your teacher

Adversity your friend

Run not from confrontation, it will catch you in the end

And as you face your deepest fear

With naught but your own salty tears

Know that I am always here, and have been from the start

For, child, I am everything

The Stars, the Moon, the Earth, the Sea

Every life which dwells herein is but a part of me

So, take these words I say to you

Be purposeful, be strong

And when you find your way back home, know you’ve been here all along

Loved it- an absolute wow..to desribe this poem would be to consider human aspects-i believe
everybody has to some degree- masks that hide what exactly in fundimental basics attitude could
be considered masks-personalities-so perhaps masks change minute by minute- its those masks
we chose to were the longest that reveal who we truly are? there is much to be considered when

pondering this brilliant writing! The passionate form you chose is most effective and the words
toch the soul-as your poem turned around the middle when the reflective analysis came into
play i felt like the image took on that of a god or godess speaking to the heart revealing
deepest wisdoms in subtly..takes the heart all the way back home.. This is such an Amazing writing!

I find nearly everything I read from another writer wonderful in its own right, because it derived from the heart, mind and soul of another. For some reason that revelation alone gets me extremely passionate and excited about what it is that I am reading. On different levels of course,
... some more than others... but I always manage to belt out great adjectives! :)

This is different.

This is amazing. Truly amazing in every sense of the word. It makes me realize that every piece I've read before now and called "amazing" , didn't come close to this piece and I need to be more careful when choosing my adjectives.

In no way am I taking away from the other writers' work
or from their talent and wonder,
nor from how much I enjoy reading their work...

but what I AM saying is ...
they didn't touch this.

This is true brilliance....
thank you.

Now that you have my attention,
although not requested.. lol
I will be back soon to read more of your work :)

Again, thank you.

wwwwwwwoooooooooaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh. That went straight to my heart...physically. How utterly awesome. I was relating from go....was just thinking about what a chameleon I can be...and how many aspects of myself derived from aspects of people I've known over the years. I've picked up little things here and there....words, expressions, thoughts, interests. It's odd. But then your piece took me much deeper than that. Much deeper.
The ending verses just lift this up to a higher dimension...and I agree...we are made up of all the elements and we are always home....even when we feel like a stranger in a strange land. A lovely message to reassure the salty-teared one you are always there. Very, very lovely. Thank you for sending this my way. Much love~~

Yes the long way home is the scenic route and we just might learn something along the way. Great write. I think this is a special piece worthy of praise, would like to see you publish it.

In a completely random moment, I went serching for a random piece of poetry to read and I clicked on this one.
Your words have left my almost speachless, as this very topic has touched my life in recent times.
I absolutly adored the first three stanza's; They speak so much of the way people assume things about another, with out truly looking inside of the masks.

Like a diety admonishing her flock of followers to grow and learn. The later part of the poem shows that she may scold her young, but still loves them and will never leave.

Remarkable piece! I'm glad I chanced upon it!
