If We Were Seasons

If We Were Seasons

A Poem by CookieMisfit1969
"

to my lover that never was

"
i am the aftermath of a harsh winter
you are the fresh bloom of spring
i find solace in your warmth
you find sadness in my presence
yet you endured and listened
you watered me patiently day by day
you fascinated me with your spurr of the moment tales
and cracked me up with your witty jokes
but i'm broken and you're taken
maybe we just weren't meant to be more
because after all autumn always comes next

A wonderful use of the seasons. You gave life and reasons to the words. I liked how oy led to the hopeful ending. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.
