Make a Wish

Make a Wish

A Poem by Giulia King

There's something hauntingly beautiful about the way she carries herself.
Even if her heart is shattered in a million pieces,
she's always mindful of the type of energy she surrounds herself with.
And I am forever jealous of her relationship with the starry sky.
. . .
You.
Her deep dark eyes searched for his.
"You take me to places, I've never known before.
How did you know my favorite thing is star gazing?" She asked.
"I knew it, simply by the way your eyes light up when the sun goes down.
No one fancies the darkness as much as you do."
"It's not darkness to me", she says with a frown on her face.
"There's something magical about the stars in the velvety sky."
"What's so magical about it?" He asks.
"You can close your eyes and make a wish and it will come true."
"Do you trust me?"
"Always," he says.
As she reaches out her hand to him she says,
"Close your eyes, make a wish and think of me."
He takes her hand,
closes his eyes
and makes his last wish.

someone is looking up to someone in a more symbolic way than just the stars. it's just my take and i'm left curious. The poem is simply beautiful!

Thank you for reading :)
Can you imagine how many stars are out there? Count the numerous stars from the balcony of your home? And you wish to find them all? Take a journey of unlitimed adventure, where you become ageless. Yes, the stars go on and on as we waste the precious moments they wish to have,

but breath

slow,

deep,

and let it all out.

Yes, thats exactly what it felt like!

Never stop writing about the immense galaxy. xx

Thank you, Matt! :)
this is so sweet. love, togetherness and those ever enchanting, mystical stars. man has been fascinated with the stars since the beginning of time. so much romancing takes place in their presence. they are like eyes in the sky! cool title. great job. really enjoyed this. :)

Thank you so much, Pete! I'm happy you liked this one! :)
A beautiful and very romantic poem devoid of cliches. The dialogue is very appropriately romantic and sweet, not resorting to sex and/or lust but instead an ode to true love between two people who just want to connect on an emotional level.

No, I'm not bored with the theme and visuals of stars as they make the poem much more poignant.
I also liked the dialogue, innocently sweet it was.

Either he got her or he asked for a kiss and she gave it to him, in surprise he died of pleasure. Valentine

I like this line esp .. 'the way your eyes light up when the sun goes down' .. and the hint of menace in the sign off.

I'm not bored with poems about stars.not bored at all with poems about the stars at all.
I love the sentiment in this - his first wish on the stars was his last because she was everything he coud wish for...that's pure romance right there.
Stargazing is one of my favourite things to do. As a kid, I used to feel a yearning to them when I viewed them. Like ET - lol - "come back and get me, you forgot about me here." lol
A beautiful write Gullia!
