A Poem by Holly Mason

turning he says never again
rushing down the streets my friend
snatching away at an old ladies purse
his children are starving which is worse
coming to the corner the man stops
an officer is running are his thoughts
the sirens grow louder then ever before
sweating ,shirt soaked he hits the floor
staying hidden ,catching his breath
realizing this is life or death
they grab and take the purse away
when he gets home what will he say
no release, two years you will spend
gets out ,back in,kids hungry again

really interesting and well written, can't help but feel for him but also despise him for having children in the first place when he can't look after them through normal means. but such is life.. nothing is never normal.

thank you much
so many are one paycheck away from realities they so dearly don't want to touch...
