A Little Nudge

A Little Nudge

A Poem by Holly Mason

Sometimes a person needs a little nudge.
Not yelling and screaming at which part ,we judge.
Just a slight little tap, to get them on their way.
Let them know that they can make it happen today.
Nothing to severe, not a beating black and blue.
Just enough to let them know the laziness is through.
So if a couch potatoe rests upon your shores,
throw them out softly ,have guts to take back whats yours.

Nice. Sounds like my family.

It sounds so helpful at first, like a mother bird nudging the baby out of the nest, but then the last line, its kind of harsh, though I suppose that mother bird was gonna toss that baby right out the tree eventually.

Hmmm, I'm not sure that would work on me, but maybe. You poems are always so real, so now and straight forward like a slap, I mean a gentle nudge. :)
