A Poem by Holly Mason

This is how I review
so we all know what I do

I am not a grammar queen
so who am I to say
if your period is a question mark
with a semi-colon play

This is how I review
this is what I like to do

I read your words
so elegantly spoken
pictures of souls
left openly broken

This is how I review
seeing if I can meet you

I love your words
that you offer of yourself
I see the paintings
with oil laden shelves

This is how I review
let me know what more to do

I thank you
for your picturing eyes
my eyes love them
with harmonies sighs

The only problem with that is how this kind of review becomes a trend. When that happens, this site becomes more a port for diary entries, and not literary craft.
I thought WC was designed for the later... But by all means, exercise your freedom. Site be damned!

have you ever heard of "ars poetica" perchance?
This is how I review, so we all know what I do to others when they write,
I read your words, look at your picture, read your heart, think about the poem, I careless about your grammar, assimilate the message, commend your writing, appreciate your thought, one tumb up and two tumbs up, we are all writing our mind so that other mind can read, good poems.

Your reviews are always honest and heartfelt Holly...as is this write...Taking an everyday occurrence, for us...and turning it into a creative work...that's pretty cool, I must admit.
Reviewing as you do is plenty good enough and all of us are more than satisfied with the effort and feedback you provide...Thank you for sharing this and always for your reviews.

Well, I certainly thank you for reviewing anything I've written! Great poem, its always interesting to hear someone write a poem about something that directly relates to Writers Cafe.

Fair enough. Having only a high school GED, I'm no authority, either, but I know what I like.

I felt the you here Miss Holly. As for myself I am a very moody reviewer, I don’t review much but I read much of anything. Grammar is also my weakness – but I’m not here in wc for that, I am here to expressed myself, post my emotional outburst or just ponderings. In my review, I don’t say much – sometimes short and sometimes an expressive thought. Very nicely expressed thoughts Miss Holly.
