Flying Skies

Flying Skies

A Poem by Holly Mason

On the edge of a cliff,
not far from here.
Stood a girl so melancholy,
so sad and so still.
Towering small on lovers hill.
Somber and quiet.
Caressing her thoughts.
Stay until tomorrow,
but for what she prays?
Stay, for the sunsets.
The becoming light drop rays.
Kissing your skin,
warming hopes days.
Laughter , the best.
All warm and fuzzy.
Stay for the beauty,
that surrounds each our days.
Stay for it all.
Hug it so close.
These are the treasures,
that should be treasured most.
So, now in this prayer,
she thinks quiet thoughts.
Flying skies ,scream of glory.
But she knows there is so much more,
to tell in her story.
She climbs down.
Kisses the ground.
Angels whispers,
she hears their voice.
Stay sweet girl.
Play with the moon.
Run in the sand.
Wish on a star.
Flying Skies were calling,
but you know ,
who you are.

wow, i am so glad she climbed down.

this is written such as to explicate the intensity of thoughts she was wrestling with.

This one tugs at my heartstrings, I can't help but think of my sister, I wish she would have climbed down.

Play with the moon.
Run in the sand.
Wish on a star.

If only, thanks for sharing this one Holly.

thank you for reading...much
Holly, it's like you sit back in stealth mode and when I really need a new Holly poem, you appear. Nice one, I'd loved to be sitting on that hill right now with this girl watching the beautiful sunsets and playing with the moon.
