heart on your sleeve

heart on your sleeve

A Poem by Holly Mason

we were walking the other day
I saw your heart on your sleeve
I tugged just to see
I played with it
I said all the right things
now I am bored
no more tugging
but your heart,
is still on your sleeve
a little tattered
a little worn
better than
no heart at all
and you know
I don't care
I am laughing
a sinister laugh
I caused the wear
I caused, tattered ends
what fun
look to my sleeveless shirt
and learn

not so much grumpy...but quite cynical...almost like the speaker has hurt this person just because she was the one with the heart on the sleeve so much...and that sleeve got torn and tattered...

now she is sleeveless but lashing out ...making someone else feel what she feels...

impulsive write that stings.

one little thing..."better than / no heart at all.
