Not today God, I am busy

Not today God, I am busy

A Poem by Holly Mason

A lost little lane that we confidently drive
speeding fast, reminding us were alive
a hurried corner, sought quickly the turn
leaving a body breathless with lessons to learn
I cannot die today ,I have to much left to do
only a moment wish, for it is not up to you
I am to busy to lay down my life lance
when it is your moment ,there is no second chance
so if we hold the little things close within our heart
it still maybe our ending, but something else will start
today could be the day, a tractor trailer crash
handing back an urn ,only thing left is ash
what would you have done differently if you knew it was today
Not today God , I am busy is all that was left to say
a perishing moment with tears that hit the ground
the angels are calling ,your heart is now your sound
clasp your chest, you can feel the heart in pain
slowly fading light, as you drive in the rain
what thoughts would cross? what would you hold close?
those really are the things that matter the most
Not today God , I am busy is not an option choice
it is only your opinion, but no one hears your voice
remember always that it could happen at anytime
so fill each day with wonder, a magical lifetime
