Candy Dish

Candy Dish

A Poem by Holly Mason

A colorful placement on a table is left
yellows, blues, reds and purple
all taste sweet, all have delight
the only difference is their color
shake the bowl, move it around
they are all still there, just colored
take a purple and smash it with a red
now the taste explosion is amazing
a simple candy dish left for guests
a mixture of all things that are good
they taste the same, smell the same
the colors they carry maybe different
so mixing them just adds a spark
it adds to the home and the table
all things colorful are beautiful
no matter the color, taste, or smell
yellow and blue make green, a human being
YOU, ME, THEM, a colorful candy dish

I love the symbolism here... there are so many things in life to experience so don't just get mixed up with one thing. I once went to a Broadway play one day and the next day to a WWE event(wrestling entertainment) One Day I went to Washington D.C. then a couple days later Amish country.
