copy of you

copy of you

A Poem by Holly Mason

this is not writing anymore
my thoughts are locked
playfully penned words have left
took all of their belongings
what is still here, I put to the curb
an empty mind is now locked
any one have the keys
if not, a copy will have to do
a copy of you, please
a copy of you
a reciting recital of dancing words
ballerina style, graceful
fluttering fingertips
fanciful ways of old,
to these things
I give my minds belongings
and wait for a copy of you

Thank ya little lady*)
I think all writers read something at some point in their life and think 'Gosh I wish I could write like that!' Especially when our creative muse goes on vacation.

Well done, enjoyed reading.

Life has been kicking me in the teeth lately....writing had been put on the back burner...or at leas.. read more
next to last line, did you mean "my mind's belongings"--?
the words take all their belongings...like in divorce, the other takes everything...and all we have left is chair and tv...

we have to go out and purchase new furniture, and as poets, purchase new words.
