Undressing Earth's Angels

Undressing Earth's Angels

A Poem by Holly Mason

The Angel stands in waiting ...
Let all walls fall to the floor
in a crumbled form
touch some one in need
not profoundly, just touch
help those that hurt
including yourself
let all truth come out
no matter how personal and deep
shed a tear for some one who has more than yourself
a true tear
dance in the bright light of happiness
even if you are homeless and forgotten
smile to the masses
remembering, they too have suffered
walk into the garden of questioning
and question not
stand by the sea watching the sunrise
think of those that will see it no more
hold the hand of a friend, always
even when choices differ
realize that enemies hold different values
not all are death threats
cast aside hatred at any level
think of all God's, as a God
An undressed angel walks with no shame
releasing all, that it had contained
rocking a baby is the same for all
undressing an angel, when all walls fall
who would stand stark naked for love
we will see when push comes to shove
hurtful, hatred, in the iris shines
blinding all and forgetting the mind

This is beautiful. Love the line...

"shed a tear for some one who has more than yourself
a true tear "

as often those with so much truly have very little...

Hi Holly. A beautiful write and message about angels. Encouraging and uplifting. Skillfully crafted free verse which I enjoy. Flow is good as is the line to line transition and breaks. Nice rhythm and enjambment. Lovely depth of feeling. Powerful closing verse. Well penned. Write on!

Very nice Holly. Your poem reminds me of this quote.

Quote from "The Outer Limits The Voyage Home"
(Closing Narration) The true measure of a hero is when a man lays down his life with the knowledge that those he saves... will never know.

what a fine list of things that people do not think about doing or better yet ..think but don't do...I agree that when we put others first we see in a more GENTLE way...I especially like.."smile to the masses

remembering, they too have suffered...

walk into the garden of questioning

and question not "...Laury..
