Rain

Rain

A Poem by HaleythePoet
"

I can't take these boiling emotions anymore.

"
The thunder rolls in the background in the mountains
The animals scatter to their homes
All but one
A lonely woman sitting on a hill
Letting the rain fall and hit her in a thousand different places on her skin
But the rain masks a different type of water
Salt water
The water that is streaming down her cheeks
She feels as if her boyfriend doesn't care
He never texts her
He never calls
He never says how much she means to him
Does she mean anything to him
Other people don't see how much pain she is in
Because she has learned to hide it with a fake smile
But if you look at her eyes
You can see she is burning inside
She has given everything to him
He has given nothing in return
How she aches to be held
To be cared for
To be loved...
But she has fallen into the same trap again
That is the price she pays for being a hopeless romantic
Her arms cross over her knees and she lowers her head letting out a choked sob
As her clothes get drenched by the wet precipitation
She cares not
For her heart is broken
Why can't somebody see how hurt she really is
Doesn't anybody care for the woman
When people ask her if she is okay and she replies "I'm fine"
She wants them to reply "No...you're not. What's wrong?"
But no...nobody asks.
Her sad green eyes become blank
She lives her life in a lie
She truly is everybody's fool.

I'm feeling a lot of pain right now, so please be nice. A simple "Hey I hope you're okay..." will suffice.

We-if I may speak for others at this moment-have instinctual compassion for those in pain, for we, too, maybe suffering pain...
How are you today- right this minute?
Remember, you will never be alone. You, too, have compassion~ Soft hugs to you, pat

Dense body of work. I think you would benefit from experimenting with prose. You seem to have a lot of context and prose is a very liberal table to set when you have lots to purvey. Enjoyed this!

We've all been in this place and if there's anything positive to come from it, it is at the very least some beautiful poetry.
Hey, I hope you're ok :)

A melancholy heart often inspires the best kind of poetry.

Well penned..hope you are okay..I know that if often feels...as if it's going to rain every day...but it won't ...the sun..will show its face someday.

Hey I do hope you are Ok! I have felt the same emotions many times. Guess what? you have to survive. I am a hopeless romantic and so, I am told choose the wrong people to be with. Do yourself a favour. Respect yourself and next time you decide he is the one, make sure it is for YOU and the right reason. Don't simply fill the gap. This is again a poem with emotion and they are simply the best!

First I hope you're okay...

Secondly this is wonderful stark. It tears at the sinews, bleeding openly.

Very real and effecting.
