"Happily Ever After"

"Happily Ever After"

A Poem by Hana Linzi

I know there is no happily ever afters.
Nor is there wishes that come true.
Every time I look into your eyes,
I am dreaming and wishing that it was you.

Although Im no Cinderella
and this ain't no Beauty and the Beast.
I wish we could have that Jeanie in a bottle
then maybe you would once again notice me.

I am not high up in a castle,
Although, I am the damsel in distress.
there is no prince charming coming to the rescue.
I am stuck here, caged up
from the demons that are consuming me.
Although I don't have someone who wants to save me.

That moment, the first time, I looked into your eyes,
I thought I was the princess.
I felt like you were my prince charming,
and our happily ever after was only beginning.
Although, you left me there crying,
without a single goodbye.

Now I am the damsel in distress,
wishing I had that poison apple to intake.
this isn't a nightmare,
because every time I awaken,
you are never there.
I scream and cry out your name,
As your no where to be seen.

When I thought I found my prince charming,
You left me with just one kiss.
My glass slipper went missing,
and so didn't my heart.
My wicked step sister laugh at me,
and called me names.
I was a liar,
