To a certain boy.

My momma always told me,

You need to follow your brain, 

But you also ,need to follow your heart sometimes

At that point in time 

You will know when you need to take your heart's word. 

A ticket was handed to me 

I am on my way 

But my heart is aching 

My body is tense 

I don't know what you will say 

My body is clenching 

I am scared to fly 

But I know that I need to 

There is no lie

What are you gonna say when I get there?

Are you gonna be happy?

Are you gonna be upset?

In disbelief?

Are you gonna come see me?

Or did I just waste my time?

Because boy I'm in love with you

And for me, that's too hard to hide. 

With all the men I have been with, 

I never thought they would be my only from the start. 

As I always look your way 

Wondering if you ever felt the same 

As my heart keeps telling me to stay 

And my brain keeps telling me to go. 

I know this time, 

My heart has to know 

More than my brain can comprehend 

The only problem is, 

You're with her 

Not with me 

And I really don't have the money 

But I know I'll try to prove my heart right

To prove to you

My eyes are set to you. 

When my momma told me 

Sometimes you need to follow your heart

That you will know when its time 

This is the time boy 

My heart's set on you

Only will I leap
